Nyetimber has been at the forefront of Sparkling winemaking in the UK for many years and are regarded as amongst the finest not only in the UK but the world.   Nyetimber was the first producer to produce English sparkling wine exclusively from the ‘Champagne varieties’ of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

So we are delighted that we will have the chance to show you that these wines are every bit as good (if not better) than those from Champagne.

We will be matching Nyetimbers entire range of 7 sparkling wines to an 7 course tasting menu.

We will be amongst the first to try the new 2013 Blanc de Blanc as well as their 2 new prestige cuvees, '1086'

Background

Nyetimber is based in the heart of West Sussex, on what is regarded as a perfect site for the production of sparkling wine.   The estate was established in 1988, with just over 14 hectares planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.   Ever increasing demand for Nyetimber’s sparkling wines led to considerable vineyard expansion from 2006 onwards.   Nyetimber now has eight carefully selected vineyards across Sussex and Hampshire, with a total of 160 hectares under vine.

Winemaker Cherie Spriggs won the IWC ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ in 2018; she is the first winemaker outside of Champagne and the first woman to achieve this impressive accolade.

In 2018, to celebrate their 30th Anniversary, Nyetimber also launched two Prestige Cuvées, a white and rosé. These are named ‘1086’ after the Estate’s first mention in the Domesday book and have been ten years in the making. Immediately excelling in blind tastings and receiving lavish critical praise, they have cemented Nyetimber’s place as a leader in the world of sparkling wine.
