We are delighted to welcome one of our favourite winemakers, Samantha O'Keefe of Lismore Estate Vineyards, South Africa to Park House on the 20th of May 2022.
Sams wines are highly sought-after and acclaimed throughout the wine-drinking world, and we are delighted she is joining us. Her story is inspiring and one of passion, tragedy, hope and excellence; join us for an incredible evening of wine, food and storytelling.
Tucked into the foothills of a dramatic mountain range at the bottom of Africa is Lismore Estate Vineyards. Californian Samantha O'Keefe has found paradise and the perfect terroir. Her passion, combined with vines planted at 300 meters, chilled by the winter snow and nourished by the African summer sun, produces classic cool climate wines which are rich, complex and lovingly handcrafted. Benefitting from one of the coolest climates in South Africa, with extreme diurnal temperature shifts, Lismore Estate wines presents us with a very distinct sense of place. One that tells a story in the glass.
Tragedy struck on December 17th 2019 when bushfires destroyed her home, winery and a portion of her vineyards. Amazing generosity from famous cape wineries allowed her to continue making wine through donated grapes, and she has now rebuilt her winery and home as well as replanting the damaged vineyards. Luckily the bulk of her bottled wines were stored in a separate location and survived.
